Every year more than 9 billion of the 12 billion magazines published in the US either wind up in landfills or get incinerated.
Each paper bead in this piece is hand crafted using paper recycled from magazines and catalogs that would have otherwise been thrown away. This means that each bead was individually cut from a used magazine and rolled it into a cool little bead, after which, are coated with a non-toxic lacquer made for chemically sensitive people (Acrylacq). Mixed with gemstones, crystals, glass, and other beads to bring out the unique colors in the paper beads, these necklaces are always fascinating. Each piece is one-of-kind
